Exercise Calorie Burn Calculator (MET)
Enter your weight, exercise duration and tick any number of activities from a 60+ MET table to estimate calories burned per activity and in total — kcal = MET × 3.5 × weight kg ÷ 200 × minutes, the standard metabolic-equivalent formula.
Estimates only — actual burn varies with fitness, terrain and intensity. Not medical or weight-management advice.

What is it
MET (metabolic equivalent) is the energy cost of an activity relative to sitting quietly: 1 MET ≈ 1 kcal per kg body weight per hour. Multiplying MET by weight and time gives a quick, comparable estimate of calories burned across walking, running, cycling, swimming, ball games and housework — useful for planning activity and balancing intake.
Notes & fun facts
A morning walk, a lunchtime jog and an evening stretch session often feel like "a little bit" — adding their estimated kcal makes the day's activity energy visible in one line.
Origin & history
The metabolic equivalent (MET) is a standard unit in exercise science for rating activity intensity: 1 MET approximates the oxygen consumption of sitting quietly, and every activity can be scaled as a multiple of that baseline. The modern Compendium of Physical Activities has compiled reference MET values for hundreds of common activities, so walking, running, cycling and housework can be compared on one scale.
