What is it
Programming languages and style guides are picky about capitalization. This tool splits your text into words by any separator (space, dash, underscore, dot…) and rewrites it in 12 common naming styles — perfect for turning loose notes into variable names, CSS classes, file names or constants.
Notes & fun facts
camelCase got popular in the 1970s with Smalltalk and Java, snake_case was the C standard, kebab-case took over URLs and CSS when dashes were free separators, and SCREAMING_SNAKE_CASE has always meant "this is a constant, do not touch". Get the case wrong and your code still runs — your reviewers just wince.
Origin & history
The words "uppercase" and "lowercase" come from the days of hand-set metal type: compositors kept capital letters in the upper drawer and minuscules in the lower one. Naming conventions as we know them solidified with the rise of structured programming in the 1960s and 70s, and every new language picked its own favorite.
