Mélangez deux couleurs ou plus en moyennant leurs canaux RGB. Ajoutez jusqu'à 8 couleurs, voyez le résultat en direct, copiez ou téléchargez.
Qu’est-ce que c’est
When you average two colors channel by channel (red with red, green with green, blue with blue), you get the midpoint — the exact color that sits visually between them. Adding more colors pulls the result toward their center of mass. This is how design tools compute a "blend" of two swatches.
Notes et anecdotes
Mixing paint is subtractive (mix red and yellow, get orange). Mixing light on a screen is additive — but averaging RGB on a display gives a perceptual middle that designers have used for decades to choose harmonious palettes.
Origine et histoire
RGB color blending as a design tool came with early graphics software in the 1980s. The average-RGB operation was popularized by MacPaint and Photoshop's "color picker" in the early 1990s; modern design tools still use it as the default "blend two colors" behavior.
